Ceiling Speakers In Attic

From what i see and if i understand what i see it seems to have some batt insulation pink fiberglass batts maybe.

You can do a quick and easy install with a lot of insulation contact that may muffle higher pitches but preserve a good bass response. You may even take it one step farther and cut a board to seal the top of the box. Like others i ended up sealing not ceiling these to the sheetrock with silicon sealer to keep the insulation dust debris out. These worked well enough to protect the in ceiling speakers that we installed in our media room.
